We have been working with children and youth for 10 years. We know how important it is to maintain cognitive curiosity of young people, encouraging to reflect on the world around them and to train the skills of independent thinking.
Specializing in non-formal education we can allow ourselves to present an individual approach to each participant of our classes, experiment with methods of creative thinking, elaborate author’s education programs and then test them in practice.
- Since 2010, we have been implementing our own program of sex education workshops for high school students that has been successful and has received very positive opinions, both among students as well as school counsellors and psychologists.
- We also deal with philosophical education. Together with children, we reflect on the questions: Who am I? What does a man consist of? What is the imagination? Where do the characters from the books live? Is time really chasing us? Can we think of impossible things? How was the world created?
- Since 2013, we have been publishing the Łódzka Gazeta Społeczna „Miasto Ł” (the Newspaper „City of Ł”). Every month we write about issues important for Łódź (and not only) – about education, culture, environment, about smog and massive tree felling, about public transport, about flats and evictions, about local initiatives, festivals and dozens of people who every day work on thing of our city.
Where did the name „spunk” come from?
- google translate – courage
- wikipedia – courage or spirit, pluck; quality of mind showing enthusiasm, boldness, energy, courage, determination and motivation – a state of mind showing enthusiasm, boldness, energy, courage, determination and motivation
- Astrid Lindgren Pippi comes aboard – „spunk” is a symbol of creating new words and giving them meanings that we will come up with. As language creates reality, creating a language is a creative act in an almost philosophical dimension
- Jorgen Gaare, Oystein Sjaastad, Pippi and Socrates. Philosophical wandering around the world of Astrid Lindgren; we recommend a chapter on the philosophy of language and the word „spunk”. As an introduction, we recommend the article: http://www2.tygodnik.com.pl/ksiazki/32/ksiazka07.php
